Currently showing at Cove Street Arts in Portland, Mohammadi says of her work, “Although I draw from the landscape and still life as a way to explore ideas, my main interest is in abstract painting. Through drawing and collage, I work towards a simple expression of what I am seeing and feeling. Abstracting space through color and mark is what keeps me engaged with painting.”

“Abstract” will run from Tuesday, Sept. 5 through Saturday, Oct. 14 at the gallery at 36 Elm St.

The opening reception will be from 2-4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 9. Regular hours are from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. For inquiries, visit the gallery’s website.
