Do you plan to get the new COVID-19 vaccine?

Limited supplies of updated COVID-19 vaccines are arriving at pharmacies and health care providers in Maine, as officials say a moderate level of coronavirus is expected to circulate across the country this fall and winter.

Public health experts say infection rates are not expected to surge as they did in previous peaks, such as in early 2022 when waves of illness overwhelmed hospitals in Maine.

Even so, experts say everyone who is eligible should get the updated COVID-19 shot, which is formulated to protect against circulating variants of the coronavirus. The federally-approved vaccines, made by Pfizer and Moderna, are designed to combat the XBB.1.5 strain and other similar subvariants of the coronavirus.

But what about you? Do you plan to get the vaccine? Tell us in the poll and comments below.
