JAY — Members of the Spruce Mountain High School golf team recently helped long time school nurse Jackie Kilbreth prepare for the winter by hauling and stacking wood for her and her husband, Scott, who live in Dixfield.

The team did the same for Kilbreth’s son, Joe who lives next door to the couple. The Kilbreths are avid golfers and have participated in many Phoenix Faculty Scrambles with the golf team over the years.

After Katie Trask, nurse at the high school in Jay mentioned Kilbreth’s need to golf coach Dianne Fenlason, Fenlason immediately engaged the team in the service opportunity to help one of their own.

The team made quick work of five cord of wood for the two families and in return learned how good it feels to help others with a simple gesture of kindness.
