LEWISTON — Two community dialogues are slated to take place at the Lewiston Public Library soon to help people heal in the aftermath of the Oct. 25 mass shooting in Lewiston that left 18 dead.
Quixada Moore-Vissing, founder of the Rockland-based Public Engagement Partners, said the separate events Saturday and Tuesday are designed so “people in the community can talk together about what happened, process their feelings and maybe start to do some healing.”
Moore-Vissing said they’ll include community meals, music and facilitated dialogue in small groups.
A breakfast session is slated from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday in Callahan Hall on the library’s top floor.
A dinner session is scheduled from 5:30-8 p.m. Tuesday in the same room.
With support from the Judge William W. Treat Foundation, the sessions are sponsored by the library, Public Engagement Partners, the University of New Hampshire, the Center for Maine Contemporary Art, the Pihcintu Multi National Girls Choir and the Halcyon String Quartet.
Child care and language interpretation, including American Sign Language, will be available.
