SOUTH CHINA — Erskine Academy has announced its Class of 2024 top 10 seniors, listed by rank.

Valedictorian is Aaralyn Gagnon, daughter of Todd and Lauren Gagnon of Vassalboro. Throughout her time at Erskine, she has participated in National Honor Society, LEO Club, Math Team, and the Crafting Club. Gagnon is a high honor roll student and has received awards of distinction in English, Physics, and U.S. History. She has received the SWE Certificate of Merit and attended Dirigo State. Gagnon plans to attend Purdue University with a dual major in mechanical engineering and computer science.

Nolan Burgess Submitted photo

Salutatorian is Nolan Burgess, son of Jason and Michele Burgess of Whitefield. He has participated in National Honor Society, Student Council, the International Outreach Coalition, LEO Club, HOPE Club, he has served as secretary of the class of 2024 for two years, and he has completed nearly 200 hours of community service projects. A student who has received high honor roll distinction every trimester, Burgess was the recipient of awards of excellence in Social Studies, Spanish, and PreCalculus. In addition, he also has been a recipient of the Bausch & Lomb Honorary Science Award and is a Maine Principals’ Association Award recipient. Burgess plans to attend the University of Maine to study secondary education.

Third in academic standing is Elizabeth Brown, daughter of Kean and Sara Brown of Vassalboro. She is president of National Honor Society, serves as vice president of the class of 2024, and has participated in Student Council, Future Business Leaders of America, LEO Club, the International Outreach Coalition, swim, and track and field. She has received high honor roll distinction every trimester, and is a Smith Book Award recipient. Brown plans to attend the University of Maine to major in political science.

Fourth is Nathan Polley, son of Stephen and Hillary Polley of Vassalboro. He has been a participant of the swim team for three years and the tennis team for four years. Polley has achieved high honor roll distinction every trimester and he is a Renaissance Senior of the Trimester award recipient. In addition, he is a member of Boy Scouts of America and has earned the rank of Eagle Scout. Polley plans to attend the University of Maine with a major in civil and environmental engineering.

Fifth is Austin Nicholas, son of Michael Nicholas and Tonya Picard of Chelsea, and Vaunalee and Mike Pion of Pittston. He serves as treasurer of National Honor Society, served as vice president of the class of 2024 for two years, and has participated Student Council, the EA Leadership Team, the Golf Team, basketball, and lacrosse. Nicholas is a four-year honor roll recipient, has received Renaissance Recognition and Senior of the Trimester Awards, and received the George Eastman Young Leaders Award. Nicholas plans to attend the Central Maine Community College to major in conservation law enforcement.

Isabella Boudreau Submitted photo

Sixth is Isabella Boudreau, daughter of Rick and Michelle Boudreau of China. She is vice president of National Honor Society, president of the Class of 2024, and has participated in Student Council, LEO Club, the International Outreach Coalition, Prom Committee, soccer, and lacrosse. In addition, Boudreau has completed over 200 hours of community service activities. She has been a consistent high honor roll student and has received awards of distinction in algebra and English. Boudreau plans to attend the University of New Hampshire with a major in biology.

Seventh is Jeremy Parker, son of Josh and Donna Parker of Windsor. He is a member of National Honor Society and he has participated in LEO Club, the EA Leadership Team, soccer, wrestling, and baseball. In addition, Parker has completed over 200 hours of community service activities. He is a four-year honor roll recipient and has received an award of distinction in PreCalculus. He also has received Renaissance Recognition and Senior of the Trimester awards. Parker plans to major in mechanical engineering at the University of Maine.

Eighth is Reese Sullivan, daughter of Matthew and Cheryll Sullivan of Windsor. She serves as treasurer of the Class of 2024, and has been a member of such activities as the National Honor Society, Student Council, HOPE Club, LEO Club, field hockey, and lacrosse. Sullivan has received high honor roll distinction every trimester, and has received awards of excellence in Chemistry and Clay. In addition, she was a recipient of the Rensselaer Medal. Sullivan plans to attend Husson University with a major in biology.

Ninth is Caleb Gay, son of Christopher and Laura Gay of Windsor. He is a member of National Honor Society and has participated in the International Outreach Coalition, LEO Club, the EA Leadership Team, soccer, and has completed over 200 hours of community service projects. Gay has received high honor roll distinction every trimester, and received awards of distinction in Spanish and US History. He also has received a Renaissance Senior of the Trimester award. Gay plans to major in wildlife ecology at the University of Maine.

Tenth is Baruch Wilson, son of Andrew and Julie Wilson of Whitefield. He participated in the Junior Achievement Titan Challenge Business Simulation Competition, is a four-year honor roll award recipient, and has received awards of distinction in English, PreCalculus, Geometry, and Junior Judgement. Wilson plans to major in electromechanical technology at Central Maine Community College.
