FARMINGDALE — Miriam Asch, a senior at Hall-Dale High School, has been named a National Merit semifinalist in the 2025 National Merit Scholarship Program, according to a news release from the school.

Asch scored in the top 1% of PSAT test-takers nationwide and is now eligible to compete for a National Merit Scholarship, which will be awarded next spring.
Asch, who won the 2024 Maine State Math Meet in April, plans to study neuroscience in college, according to a news release from the school.
She is the daughter of Erica Asch and Chris Myers Asch of Hallowell.
