CORNVILLE — Along with 15 other schools across Maine, Community Regional Charter School plans to hold an opening ceremony for WinterKids Winter Games at 2:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 13, at Dimensions Academy, 1192 West Ridge Road.
The theme of this year’s games is weather. Students will spend four weeks learning about temperature and other topics, while collaborating together to learn and play outside.
This is the first year the school will be competing in the Winter Games, a challenge designed to encourage outdoor activity and learning. The program also seeks to involve family and community members in fostering a passion for learning outdoors.
Every week, children will complete in activities, meet new guest speakers, and work together to gain points towards earning cash prizes.
