WATERVILLE — The Alfond Youth & Community Center has launched its Workforce Readiness Program, an initiative designed to prepare teens and young adults, ages 14-21, for success in today’s competitive job market.

The program will offer hands-on workshops and training sessions aimed at building essential life skills and workforce competencies. Participants will explore topics such as resume building, interview preparation, workplace etiquette, financial literacy, and effective communication, according to a news release from Wendy Grenier, the center’s marketing manager.

Sessions will be held at the Alfond Youth & Community Center, 126 North St. at no cost. Sessions will feature expert-led workshops by community partners.

Upcoming topics include:

• Military Careers with the Maine Army National Guard, 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 4;

• Conflict Resolution Skills with Cappza’s Pizza, 10 a.m.-noon Saturday, Feb. 15;

• Civilian National Service Opportunities with AmeriCorps, 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, March 4;

• Financial Literacy for Success with Golden Pond Wealth Management, 10 a.m.-noon Saturday, March 15;

• Outdoor Recreation Opportunities with Mid-Maine Chamber of Commerce, 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, April 1;

• Resume Building & Mock Interviews with the Maine Career Center, 10 a.m.-noon Saturday, April 19; and

• Emergency Management Skills with Maine Emergency Management System, 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, May 6.
