More than a dozen migrant workers were detained by U.S. Customs and Border Patrol in Rangeley on Tuesday and Wednesday, according to early reports.

Franklin County Sheriff Scott Nichols said Friday that a number of migrant workers were booked at the Franklin County Jail in Farmington as Border Patrol holds. Some were transferred from the jail to another facility, Nichols said, though he could not confirm which facility.

An officer at the Somerset County Jail in Madison confirmed Friday morning that 12 migrant workers in Border Patrol custody were transferred from Franklin County Jail. The transfer occurred Thursday, according to jail release logs.

Further information was not available.

As of Friday morning, the individuals’ booking sheets were still available on Franklin County Jail’s inmate roster.

Detained on Tuesday were Roman Boberskyi, 28; Andres Hernandez Hernandez, 30; Bettsi Siles, 31; Angel Sylvestre, 19; and Sarbelio Vasquez, 43.

Detained on Wednesday were Jose Caisaguani; Jairo Espinosa, 32; Jose Guacho, 39; Fumutia Oliveira, 33; Simon Peliza, 37; Milton Yupangui, 40; and Nelson Yupangui, 44.

The 12 individuals were released to Border Patrol on Thursday.

Detained on Thursday were Luis Cuenca, 19; Hannier Orozco, 25; Marco Sanipatin, 27; and Richard Sanipatin, 27. The four continue to be held at Franklin County Jail, according to release logs.

The Department of Homeland Security did not respond to calls and emails as of noon Friday.
