Jose Torres highlighted a nine-run seventh inning with a grand slam, and the Hartford Yard Goats rallied for an 11-4 win over the Portland Sea Dogs in an Eastern League game Friday night in Hartford, Connecticut.
Two Sea Dogs errors opened the door for Hartford’s big inning against relievers Wyatt Olds and Zach Bryant. Dyan Jorge broke a 3-3 tie with a two-run single, and three batters later, Torres greeted Bryant with his grand slam to left-center.
Portland had taken a 3-2 lead when Drew Ehrhard led off the fourth inning with a home run. He was 0 for 10 this season before his line drive over the left-field wall.
Ronald Rosario had a pair of RBI singles for the Sea Dogs, and Ahbram Liendo homered in the eighth. Liendo went 3 for 4, raising his batting average to .367.
Portland starting pitcher Tyler Uberstine allowed four hits and two runs in five innings. He struck out five, walked one and hit two batters.

We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
For those stories that we do enable discussion, our system may hold up comments pending the approval of a moderator for several reasons, including possible violation of our guidelines. As the Maine Trust’s digital team reviews these comments, we ask for patience.
Comments are managed by our staff during regular business hours Monday through Friday and limited hours on Saturday and Sunday. Comments held for moderation outside of those hours may take longer to approve.
