David Sandlin pitched a shutout and Caden Rose homered twice to lift the Portland Sea Dogs to a 3-0 win over the Altoona Curve in the first game of a doubleheader Thursday in Altoona, Pennsylvania.
Portland scored three runs in the sixth winning to rally for a 9-3 win in the second game.
Sandlin allowed three hits in seven innings, striking out eight and walking one to earn his third win of the season.
Rose hit a solo home run in the third inning, then a two-run shot in the sixth.
In the second game, Drew Ehrhard was 2 for 4, including a three-run home run in the sixth inning that gave Portland a 8-6 lead. Blaze Jordan had three hits, including a double, and four RBI, while Tyler Miller added a triple.
