ALPINE

Lily Boulanger, Mountain Valley senior

Boulanger swept the MVC giant slalom and slalom titles, and carried that dominance into the Class B state championships, where she again won both events. 

Valentina Farioli, Fryeburg Academy senior

Farioli’s successful postseason began with a giant slalom win and a third-place slalom finish at the WMC championships. At the Class A championships, she placed third in slalom and 15th in giant slalom. 

Margo Hesson, Falmouth senior

Hesson’s strong racing helped Falmouth win its fourth consecutive Class A title. She won the Class A giant slalom and placed fourth in slalom. She also won the SMAA slalom and was the giant slalom runner-up. 

Logan MacLeod, Yarmouth senior

MacLeod, last year’s Varsity Maine Girls Skier of the Year, won the WMC slalom championship, then finished second in slalom and fourth in giant slalom at the Class B championships to help Yarmouth win its second straight title.

Hazel Martin, Marshwood junior

Martin was first in slalom and third in giant slalom at the Class A championships. She also finished second at the SMAA championships in slalom and third in giant slalom.  

Ellie Porter, Edward Little sophomore

Porter placed second in the giant slalom at the Class A championships. She also earned KVAC titles in the slalom and GS.

Ella Morse, Falmouth senior

Raced to a second-place finish in the slalom at the Class A championships.

Emery Dodge, York sophomore

Skied to two top-five finishes at the Class B championships, placing third in the giant slalom and fifth in the slalom.


NORDIC

Rowan Barry, Greely senior

Barry finished first in freestyle and third in classical to help the Rangers win the Class B state championship. She also placed second in the WMC freestyle and sixth in the Sassi Memorial 5K.

Lucy Huggett, Freeport junior

Huggett was the WMC freestyle champion and went on to sweep the Class A events, helping Freeport win its second title in a row.

Evelyn Lacasse, Greely junior

Lacasse finished first in classical, second in freestyle and won the pursuit at the Class B championships. She was also second at the WMC championships in classical and third in freestyle, and placed fifth at the Sassi Memorial 5K. 

Haley Marston, Leavitt senior

Marston claimed KVAC titles in both freestyle and classical races. She was ninth in pursuit at the Class B championships, helping the Hornets finish third.

Clara White, Orono senior

White’s memorable end to a stellar career began with wins at the Sassi Memorial 5K and the Roy Varney Hornet Classic. The Varsity Maine Girls Skier of the Year also placed first in the MVC freestyle, then won the classical and freestyle races at the Class C state championships, skiing the fastest time, regardless of class, in both races. White will ski for Bowdoin College next year.

Ida Waterman, Gray-New Gloucester sophomore

A classical specialist this winter, Waterman won the Western Maine Conference title and finished second at the Class B championships, while placing fourth in the freestyle at both meets. She also earned the WMC pursuit title and took fourth in Class B.

Emma Price, Portland junior

Price followed SMAA titles in the freestyle and pursuit — she also took second in classical — by placing second in classical and third in freestyle and pursuit at the Class A championships.

Amelia Prince, Freeport sophomore

Prince placed second in the Class A pursuit after finishing third in the classical and second in freestyle. She also earned top-five finishes in all three races at the Western Maine Conference championships, highlighted by a third-place showing in the classical.

Coach of the Year

Evan Keefer, Falmouth: Keefer led the Navigators to their fourth consecutive Class A Alpine title. He also coached the boys team to its third straight Class A title. The Navigators, led by Margo Hesson and Ella Morse, dominated the Class A slalom event.
