Franklin Arias continued his hot start with a two-run homer in the third inning, starting the Portland Sea Dogs on their way to a 4-2 win over the Altoona Curve in an Eastern League game Tuesday night in Altoona, Pennsylvania.

With a runner on third and two outs in the top of the third, Arias hit a drive over the center-field wall for his first home run of the season. Boston’s No. 2 prospect is hitting .524 and has a 1.339 OPS through the first nine games.

Altoona’s Jesus Castillo answered with a home run in the bottom of the third off Isaac Coffey, but Nate Baez led off the fourth with a double and scored on Ronald Rosario’s two-out single to make it 3-1.

The Sea Dogs tacked on a run in the seventh when Tyler McDonough hit a two-out single, stole second and scored on an Ahbram Liendo single.

Altoona’s Derek Berg homered in the bottom of the ninth off Patrick Halligan, Portland’s fourth pitcher of the game.

Chance Adams (2-0) was credited with the win after striking out four and allowing only one hit over three innings in relief of Coffey. Halligan got his second save.

The Sea Dogs improved to 5-4, while Altoona dropped to 0-10.
