With the winter season over, many restaurants in the region close to restock and refresh before the busy summer months. That leaves locals with fewer spots to grab a bite.

While it is nearing the tail-end of business closures, some places will stay closed until early May.

Here is a list of a few spots to have a meal and current operating hours as mud season goes on in the Rangeley region.

THE BLACK PEARL

Located in downtown Rangeley, The Black Pearl offers an assortment of seafood and more traditional options for a range of palettes. Having already taken their mud season break, they will remain open with shorter hours until the summer season. Changes to hours will be announced on Facebook and their website.

Wednesday-Thursday, dinner only: 4:30-8 p.m.

Friday, dinner only: 4:30-9 p.m.

Saturday: 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Sunday: 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

THE LOONEY MOOSE CAFE

For breakfast lovers, the Looney Moose Cafe in Stratton offers a dining option for the early birds. They have not changed their hours for mud season, but will have new spring menu options next month for Mother’s Day.

Wednesday-Saturday: 7 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

BEAR BELLY’S TAP AND TABLE

Bear Belly’s Tap and Table, located off Route 4 in Phillips, is a pub-style restaurant serving a rotating menu of entrees and craft beers. They have not closed for mud season aside from a few days due to weather and will not be taking any breaks moving forward. For updates to the menu, check their Facebook page.

Monday: 1-9 p.m.

Tuesday-Thursday: 4-9 p.m.

Friday: 4-10 p.m.

Saturday-Sunday: 4-9 p.m.

THE SHED

The Shed, on Main Street in Rangeley, prepares a host of meals from gyros to briskets. They will remain open through mud season, with select closures which will be announced on their Facebook page. Menu options will also change day to day through April and early May.

Tuesday-Thursday: 4-9 p.m.

Friday: 4-10 p.m.

LONGFELLOW’S RESTAURANT

If you’re looking to eat out in Kingfield, Longfellow’s serves lunch and dinner Wednesday through Sunday. They offer a rotating list of daily specials, so you can try something new each time you visit. Their hours have not changed for mud season.

Wednesday-Saturday: 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Sunday: 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
