Despite home runs from Franklin Arias, Tyler McDonough and Max Ferguson, the Portland Sea Dogs lost 9-7 to the Hartford Yard Goats in an Eastern League game Tuesday night at Hadlock Field.
Arias went deep for the fourth time in five games, hitting a two-run shot in the second inning that gave the Sea Dogs a 4-0 lead.
Hartford struck back for two runs in the third inning against Gage Ziehl, starting with a Jose Torres home run, then took the lead with three runs in the fourth. Roc Riggio highlighted that rally with a two-run double.
After McDonough tied the game in the sixth with his first home run of the season, the Yard Goats answered with three runs in the seventh off Cade Feeney and Erik Rivera.
Ferguson belted his third home run of the season in the ninth.
Arias, Ferguson and McDonough all finished with two hits.
