A person with measles passed through Logan Airport in Boston earlier this month.
The person had traveled on JetBlue flight 470, which departed Fort Lauderdale, Florida, at 8:54 p.m. on April 13, the Boston Public Health Commission and the Massachusetts Department of Public Health said in a joint news release Wednesday.
The person entered Terminal C at the airport shortly after midnight on April 14, according to the two agencies. They say anyone who spent time in the terminal between midnight and 2:30 a.m. on that date could have been exposed.
“BPHC and DPH are working with local partners to identify and notify those who may have been exposed,” they stated. “Unvaccinated individuals who have been exposed should contact their healthcare provider immediately.”
The agencies also advised unvaccinated individuals who may have been exposed to avoid public spaces through May 5.
The person left the airport in their own vehicle before traveling out of state, the agencies said.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
