Franklin Arias tied the game with a two-run homer in the bottom of the ninth, and Max Ferguson hit a bases-loaded single in the 10th to give the Portland Sea Dogs a 5-4 win over the Hartford Yard Goats in an Eastern League game Tuesday night at Hadlock Field.
Portland was trailing 4-2 when Ferguson started the tying rally with a leadoff single in the ninth. Arias followed with a fly ball over the Green Monster in left field for his sixth home run in his last seven games.
After Cooper Adams stranded the potential go-ahead run at third base in the top of the 10th, Hartford issued an intentional walk to Tyler McDonough with a runner on third and two outs. Pinch hitter Will Turner drew a walk to load the bases, and Ferguson drove home automatic runner Miguel Bleis with a single to center.
Adams (3-0) was credited with the win after pitching four scoreless innings, with four strikeouts, two walks and three hits allowed. Sea Dogs starter Dalton Rogers went five innings, giving up two runs, one earned. He struck out six, walked two and gave up four hits.
