A driver crossing the center line left one person dead in Gray on Saturday night, an initial investigation by law enforcement found.
At approximately 6:30 p.m. on May 9, the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office, Gray Fire Department and Raymond Fire Department responded to a two-vehicle crash near the intersection of Shaker Road and Game Farm Road in Gray, according to the sheriff’s office.
According to police, the initial investigation revealed that the vehicle operated by Jean Rahilly, 70 years old of Bethel, crossed the center line and collided with a car operated by Shane Pottle, a 29-year-old of Mechanic Falls.
Rahilly was transported to Maine Medical Center with minor injuries. Pottle’s injuries were fatal.
The crash is being investigated by the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division and the Gorham Police Department Crash Reconstruction Unit.
