As temperatures reach yearly highs across the state, staying out of the heat is imperative to preventing heat stroke.

Here is a list of cooling centers in northern Franklin County:

Kingfield

  • Webster Hall: 38 Webster St. — 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (open for July 2)

Eustis

  • Stratton Public Library: 88 Main St. — 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. (Monday, Wednesday, Friday), 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. (Tuesday, Thursday)

Strong

  • Day Mountain Regional Middle School: 110 N Main St. — 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Carrabassett Valley

  • Carrabassett Valley Public Library: 3209 Carrabassett Drive — 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. (Tuesday – Friday)

This is not an exhaustive list. Hours may change depending on usage.
