Two charged with writing bad checks
RANDOLPH — Two people are facing charges after reportedly writing more than $2,300 worth of bad checks at a Water Street store.
David Gillison, 31, of Woolwich, and Chelsea Mansfield, 24, of Edgecomb, were both charged in connection with $2,390 worth of checks written to Goggins IGA, according to a report by Maine State Police.
Gillison was charged April 22 with negotiating a worthless instrument for allegedly writing a total of $1,300 in checks attached to a closed account.
Mansfield was charged April 23 with theft by deception. The police report says she admitted writing and cashing six checks totaling $1,090.
Police check results in three arrests
RANDOLPH — Three people were arrested April 24 by state police troopers conducting a bail check.
Jarold Curtis, 29, of Bangor, was arrested on a charge of unauthorized use of property after he allegedly failed to return an Avis rental vehicle. Ashley Steeves, 29, of Farmingdale was arrested on a charge of violating conditions of her release. Adam Smith, 31, was arrested for allegedly violating probation conditions. Probation Officer Don White took Smith into custody.

A 25-year-old woman was charged with marijuana possession and sale and use of drug paraphernalia during a traffic stop on Route 3.

Julia Chesley, 33, of Madison, was charged with operating under the influence and sale and use of drug paraphernalia during a traffic stop for a defective license plate light on U.S. Route 202.
FRIDAY
There was a report of a domestic dispute on Dirigo Road. Officers determined that a confrontation had taken place, but neither person cooperated with police and it was unclear who had been the predominant aggressor. The people were separated for the remainder of the evening.

Police responded to a report of a check for home heating oil being written on a closed account at C.B. Haskell Fuel on Augusta-Rockland Road. The investigation is ongoing.

A 31-year-old man was charged with violating conditions of release by police responding to a report of a family fight. The district attorney’s office will review the case for possible domestic-violence charges.

Ryan Crowley, 27, was arrested on a warrant charging theft by police responding to a 911 hang-up call. Crawley reportedly placed the call accidentally with his cell phone.

At 8:11 p.m., Daniel J. Tipton, 52, of Randolph, was arrested on a charge of theft by police responding to a complaint at Goggins IGA on Water Street.

Dylan Hendsbee, 21, of West Gardiner, was arrested on a charge of probation violation when he was found with his girlfriend at a home on Route 126.
WEST GARDINER
SUNDAY
George Callahan, 38, of West Gardiner, was arrested on a warrant charging failure to pay fines. He was taken to the Gardiner police station, where he posted bail and was released.
