DRESDEN — A South Paris man and a 4-year-old girl were taken to the hospital following a two-vehicle crash Sunday afternoon on Cedar Grove Road in Dresden.
Lincoln County Sheriff’s Lt. Brendan Kane said the accident happened just after 6 p.m. when Kassandra Gammon, 27, of Augusta, failed to yield while traveling onto Cedar Grove Road from the intersection of River Road.
The 2012 Mitsubishi that Gammon was driving hit a 2017 Nissan driven by Alan Hewitt, 30, of Wiscasset, which was traveling on Patterson Road.
A passenger in Gammon’s vehicle, Trever Chouinard, 22, of South Paris was injured.
The 4-year-old girl, whom Kane did not identify because of her age, was a passenger in Hewitt’s vehicle and also hurt.
Kane said those who were hurt in the accident were “believed to be stable” before being taken to Mid Coast Hospital in Brunswick.
On Tuesday morning, hospital spokesperson Judith Kelsh said neither Chouinard nor the 4-year-old were at the hospital.
Kane said the crash remained under investigation Tuesday.
Editor’s note: An earlier version of this story included a different full name, age and residence for Gammon, who police later said gave them a false name at the scene.
