The VA Maine Healthcare System plans to hold an event for women veterans Saturday, May 20, and a Memorial Day ceremony Monday, May 29.
The women veterans event will run from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Togus VA Medical Center, 1 VA Center (gazebo outside of Building 207) in Augusta.
The gathering will feature health and wellness demonstrations, VA healthcare enrollment, veterans benefits information, toxic exposure screenings, volunteer opportunities, community resources, giveaways and live music.

The Memorial Day ceremony will run from 8-9 a.m. VA Maine Healthcare System will hold its annual Memorial Day wreath-laying ceremony at the Togus National Cemeteries.
Participants will gather in the parking lot across from Building 205, then head over to the East Cemetery at 8 a.m. The ceremony will finish in the West Cemetery.
