SKOWHEGAN — The 2nd Annual Somerset Sports and Fitness Lake George Sprint Triathlon, held recently, raised approximately $3,000 for Lake George Regional Park. This event attracted hundreds of people from all over New England. Several dozen local people spent the summer training for the event while promoting a healthy and active lifestyle.
The race began at Eastside Boat launch of Lake George where participants swam a one-quarter mile to the west shore. Participants transitioned to their bikes, for a 15-mile bike ride to SSF, via the Oak Pond Road, East River Road and the Waterville Road at SSF, There, participants ran a 3.6-mile route that took the runners by New Balance and through neighborhoods and on the River Walk.
