No one was hurt in a fire that heavily damaged a home at 7 Woods Road in Wales on Friday night.

Wales Fire Chief Anthony Siderio said the fire was reported at 11:22 p.m. by the homeowners, who woke to a popping noise.

The fire started on the second floor of the two-and-a-half story wooden home. The husband and wife escaped without injury. The home was built in 1790, Siderio said.

Siderio said the cause of the blaze, which is not suspicious, is being investigated by the State Fire Marshal’s office.
