FARMINGTON — The University of Maine at Farmington will present a free concert by the United States Air Force Langley Winds of the USAF Heritage of America Band at 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 14 in the Performance Space in the Emery Community Arts Center, at 111 South St., on the UMF campus.

Langley Winds is a pioneering woodwind and percussion ensemble offering innovative programming covering a wide array of musical styles. Employing a unique blend of instruments, Langley Winds performs creative arrangements and new compositions.

Activated in 1941, the United States Air Force Heritage of America Band has a rich history of inspiring public patriotism among all the US military service branches. These world-class musicians are stationed at Joint Base Langley-Eustis in Hampton, Virginia. They travel throughout the Carolinas, Mid-Atlantic and Northeast regions presenting more than 3,000 events annually.
