DAMARISCOTTA — “Over the Line” will be the June exhibition of the Stable Gallery, 26 Water St. An opening reception is set for 5-7 p.m. Friday, June 10, 5-7 p.m.

Roz Welsh has created an installation that envelops a room from floor to ceiling in drawings. With rocks and sand plus drawing tools, the installation offers viewers an opportunity to view Welch’s creative process as well as participate in their own.

Each month’s exhibit highlights several Stable Gallery artists in the main gallery. For June, these artists include seven returning gallery members and two new for 2016.

Bill Bellows weaves one-of-a-kind wool rugs with striking, two-toned patterns for floor or wall. His work evokes beauty and usability.

Caroline Davis’ latest paintings of animals catch viewers’ eyes and spirit with her animals’ expressions.

Penelope Moodey paints natural scenes with a looseness of touch and soft colors.

Bob Thomas also evokes a special world in his painting series “Altered Grounds”. Using acrylic paints, Thomas works the paint surface into a three dimensional display of harmonious colors.

Brandon Lutterman creates large ceramic forms as “an ongoing investigation of form, balance, texture, shape, line, space and color.” Lutterman’s work spans the spectrum from realism to abstraction.

Ruthanne Harrison is a mixed media artist. The work she has chosen to display is a study on transformations in cities, time, space and relationships.

The pileated woodpecker along with other detailed birds are the work of Ed Hawkes. Each bird is a “labor of love” requiring multiple tools, phases and layers of color washes to create a realistic rendition of feathers in wood.

Charlie Durfee offers wood furniture to enhance any living space with elegance.

Finally, Susan Perrine creates artistic statements using mixed sourced elements from twigs and wool to children’s books.

The Stable Gallery has extended hours the second Friday of the month for the opening reception and third Fridays for the Damariscotta Art Walk.
