A driver who lost control of his car plowed through a fence surrounding a work site Wednesday in the 1300 block of Congress Street in Portland.
The incident occurred about 3 p.m., according to WCSH-TV.
The Toyota Corolla crashed through the work site fence and partially into a synagogue that is under construction. The car narrowly missed a large tree.
The car will eventually be removed by a tow truck.
Police told WCSH that the crash appeared to be unintentional.
