Austin Ashmore, 18, is in the Kennebec County jail, charged with several felonies, after a 19-mile Sidney-to-Gardiner chase that ended when he was rammed into a ditch while going north in Interstate 295’s southbound lanes.

Shawn Flagg, of Stetson, will serve five years in prison for the class A sexual assault conviction.

An alleged intended arson target had eight adults and five children inside, and owners of two other properties, in Wilton and Cartthage, that burned down said the emotional toll is harsh.

The charges are in connection with two June structure fires in Wilton and Carthage, which may have been a gang initiation, police say.
