A fire on Gardiner Road in Whitefield, reported shortly before 4 p.m. Thursday, drew firefighters from Lincoln and Kennebec counties.

Winthrop schools may have to pay if district doesn’t use electric buses that came riddled with problems
The school buses, which were awarded from the federal Clean School Bus program but soon broke down, have been off the road since early this year. Though the buses have now passed inspection, School Board members are uncertain about whether to put them back in service.

Richmond residents approve $8.2 million school budget, $2.9 million town budget
Precise amounts were not immediately available, but minor adjustments were made at the annual town meeting that slightly lowered the $2.9 million proposed municipal budget.

Update: Four taken to hospital after three-vehicle crash Saturday night in Winthrop
The crash at the intersection of Route 202 and Winthrop Center Road closed the road for about five hours while the Maine State Police reconstructed the crash.
