Dry weather prevails here, but in Texas, Harvey could be catastrophic

It’s been a dry second half of the summer in Maine and we need rain, but not the amount they are about to get in parts of south Texas.

As skies change between 1:30 p.m. and 4 p.m., so will the way the sun appears to Mainers hoping to glimpse the eclipse.

Clouds can ruin an eclipse party by preventing us from seeing the phenomena, but the weather is likely to cooperate Monday.

Beach weather this week is limited to just a couple of days with much needed rainfall likely late in the week.

Southern Maine is in the midst of another summer drought and it could become worse.

There isn’t going to be a big weather system this weekend, but there will be a series of small systems in the general flow.

After a dry July, we need rain and there may be some for coastal areas late tonight.

Depending on where you live, you might be watering your garden a lot or not at all.

High pressure will bring a southerly flow of air to the area for the rest of the week.

Plenty of sunshine and low humidity is in the forecast the next several days.
