Business Breakfast set for Nov. 9 at Thomas

WATERVILLE — The next Business Breakfast presented by Thomas College, in partnership with the Mid-Maine Chamber of Commerce, will host Brenda Garrand, CEO of Garrand, a marketing and communications firm offering traditional and new media advertising and public relations services in Portland. Garrand will talk about connecting with an audience on a tight budget. The presentation will begin at 9 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 9, in the Student Commons Atrium on Thomas College’s campus, 180 West River Road.

Colby Christmas play is next weekend

WATERVILLE — “The Long Christmas Ride Home,” a play about the past, present and future on a snowy Christmas Eve for a troubled family of five, will be staged at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Sat. Nov. 12 at Colby College’s Strider Theater.

Spice of Life promotes local farms Tuesday

SKOWHEGAN — Local Farm Day will be promoted from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday at Spice of Life Natural Food Store, 338 Madison Ave. Douglas and Heather Donahue of Balfour Farm, a certified organic dairy in Pittsfield, will provide samples from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Tickets available for Fairfield’s dinner theater shows

FAIRFIELD CENTER — The Victor Grange and the Fairfield Methodist Church has tickets available the for annual dinner theater event featuring “Red Velvet Cake War,” by The Fairfield Center Players. There will be three shows, a 7 p.m. show Friday and Saturday, Nov. 12, and a 2 p.m. matinee Sunday, Nov. 13, at Victor Grange.
