Woman pleads guilty to assault, sentenced
AUGUSTA — A Waterville woman was sentenced recently in Kennebec County Superior Court to two years in jail, with all but 45 days suspecned, and two years of probation after pleading guilty to domestic violence assault and two counts of violating conditions of release.

Savvy caregiver training planned
WATERVILLE — Spectrum Generations Family Caregiver Support Program will provide Maine Savvy Caregiver trainings this spring and summer. The 12-hour training program is for family caregivers of individuals with dementing disorders like Alzheimer’s disease. These trainings are sponsored by the Office of Elder Services, Department of Health and Human Services and funded by a grant from the U.S. Administration on Aging.
Prescription drug drop-off set for April 30
CARRABASSETT VALLEY — The Carrabassett Valley Police Department and the Drug Enforcement Administration will host a prescription drug take-back program from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 30 at the police department, located at Sugarloaf Mountain. The purpose of this program is to prevent pill abuse and theft by ridding homes of potentially dangerous expired, unused and unwanted prescription drugs.
