PITTSFIELD — The annual Central Maine Scholarship Pageant will take on a new look this year as the Egg Festival joins forces with the Maine Academic Scholarship Program to increase scholarship opportunities for central Maine youth and teens. This year’s pageant will take place at 7 p.m. July 13 at Millennium under the direction of Deb Landry, president of MASP and Cheryl Gifford who will produce and direct the event.
Vendors sought for Womanhood event
AUGUSTA — The Joy of “Womanhood” Celebration will be held May 7 at the Augusta Elk’s Lodge. Vendors that specialize in services and products for women are invited to attend. In exchange for a display area, vendors will be asked to donate an item with a $25 value for the silent auction, which will benefit the Maine Breast Coalition.

Easter Bunny to visit Skowhegan’s Rite Aid
SKOWHEGAN — The Easter Bunny will visit the Skowhegan Rite Aid from noon to 3 p.m today. For a $2 donation, children can have their photo taken with the Easter Bunny; they will receive a 4×6 photo and a fun-filled Easter egg. There will also be photo packages available for additional donations.
Bingham plans visit from Easter Bunny
BINGHAM — The Easter Bunny will visit Owens Street in Bingham for an Easter Egg Hunt at Somerset Rehabilitation and Living Center. The event, sponsored by the Hospitality Committee, will begin at 11 a.m. April 23. There will be three age groups: 3-4 year-olds, 5-6 year-olds and 7-8 year-olds. Children need to be accompanied by an adult and are encouraged to bring a basket for eggs they find. Prizes will be awarded in each age group to those who find the most eggs.

Skowhegan selectmen approve alternative cap
SKOWHEGAN — Selectmen this week voted to use spending recommendations from the Budget and Finance Committee as a cap on articles at the annual town meeting, but only if those figures are higher than recommendations made by the Board of Selectmen.
