In a 116-31 vote, residents weighed in on the fight over a controversial concrete plant proposal, but several already have filed a request that the appeals board reconsider its previous ruling in favor of the plant.

The meeting was prompted by disagreements over plans for a concrete plant in the Cemetery Hill Commercial Subdivision and whether town zoning rules allow for that type of industrial business.

Forks in the Air Mountain Bistro, which opened in July 2013, is the only Franklin County restaurant to participate in promotion that boosts its mid-winter business.
