Some 50 voters attended Saturday’s annual Town Meeting.

Around 38 Farmingdale residents approved the $1.5 million town budget at Saturday’s Town Meeting, rejecting only a proposed ordinance to bill people who put snow in the roadway.

Voters buck recommendation not to fund service organizations approving support for several including KVCAP and the local food cupboard.

The Town Meeting begins at 9 a.m. Saturday at Fayette Central School.

On Tuesday, residents will be asked whether they want to borrow up to $350,000 to buy a new fire truck — a pump truck with a six-person cab — to replace a 28-year-old pump truck.

The Board of Selectmen and the Advisory Board are presenting pared-down budget versions Monday to residents at the Town Meeting.

The chairman of the board of selectmen said he’s worried the estimated increase in the tax rate from the current $15.35 to about $16.30 may be too high.

The budget proposed by the Selectboard is about $110,000 higher than what was approved last year and probably would increase taxes by 50 cents per $1,000 of assessed value.

Voters at Wednesday’s meeting will be asked to allow alcohol sales for on-site consumption and to borrow $300,000 for road repairs.
