Jackman residents to consider 13 percent budget increase

Residents at Town Meeting are being asked to approve additional funds for renovations at the Jackman Health Center.

Voters in Pittston’s town election on Monday re-elected Selectwoman Mary Jean Ambrose, who defeated Scott F. Hess in the only contested race.

Public works expenses were the major contributor to the increase 6.3 percent rise from last year approved at Monday’s Town Meeting.

Voters approved all the proposed articles Saturday at the Town Meeting.

Albion residents approved a budget with $376,282 to be raised by property taxes, which is $384 less than last year.

The Town Meeting attracted 61 residents; polls will be open Monday for municipal elections.
