MARS HILL — A Maine man is facing charges he tried to hire a person to kill someone for him.

Forty-year-old Mark Stetson of Mars Hill was indicted by an Aroostook County grand jury last month on a variety of charges, including solicitation of murder.

Aroostook County District Attorney Todd Collins said he can’t release details until documents are filed in court.

But Collins said Stetson tried to hire an individual to kill one of the victims and kidnap one of that victim’s relatives. Another person who stayed at the home of one of the victims was also targeted, he said.

Stetson could get 30 years in prison.

The Bangor Daily News says the case was investigated by the Aroostook County Sheriff’s Department, Maine State Police, the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency and prosecutors.
