AUGUSTA — Kathryn Dingley Gurney, owner of Family Optometry in Farmington is the new president of the Maine Optometric Association, according to an announcement from the association.
Gurney, a doctor of optometry, is a Farmington native as well as a graduate of the University of Maine and Pennsylvania College of Optometry.
She returned to Farmington in 1998 to practice eyecare and purchased the practice of Dr. Maurice Knapp in 2007.
She is married to Kevin Gurney and has two sons. She is the daughter of Peter and Lorraine Dingley of Farmington and the granddaughter of Frank and Jean Dingley of Farmington and Claire Hill of Wilton.
