OAKLAND — Residents have until Friday, March 30, to pay outstanding sewer and tax bills to prevent their names from being included in the annual town report.

CANAAN — The Canaan Fire Auxiliary will host an indoor yard sale from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, March 31. Tables are available for rent; cost is $10 each.

BINGHAM — Jennifer Hovey of Bingham, a senior at Upper Kennebec Valley Memorial High School, was recently selected to receive the 2012 MPA Principal’s Award. The award, sponsored by the Maine Principal’s Association, is given in recognition of a high school senior’s academic achievement and school citizenship.

WATERVILLE — KV Connect will host the first of two events in its Leadership Luncheon Series: “The Future of Leadership in the Kennebec Valley,” at noon Friday, March 16, at the REM Center, Main Street. A complimentary luncheon will be offered.

SOUTH CHINA — Erskine Academy will host a Locks of Love event Wednesday, May 30, in the school’s multi-purpose room. Students, faculty and community members can donate their hair to this cause, which provides hair prosthetics to financially disadvantaged children.

OAKLAND — Gil Roy of Oakland recently took two Messalonskee High School foreign exchange students, Vasya Chernov and Amir Vafin, both of Russia, to Florida. The three of them spent one week visiting Disney World, Universal Studios, Daytona Beach and other cities.
