United Way receives grant funding

FARMINGTON — The United Way of the Tri-Valley Area recently received a $7,500 grant from the County Funds of the Maine Community Foundation to support the expansion of the Community Energy Challenge. The Challenge, now in its fourth year, is an initiative where volunteers measure, build and install interior storm windows throughout Greater Franklin County. Funding for the project will support the development of two satellite workshops in the Kingfield area and Jay/Livermore Falls.

WATERVILLE — The Waterville non-sanctioned bridge club winners on Thursday were Connie Fedorovich and Paul Leberman, Claudette McNeil and Mike Gosseline, Julie Richards and Mary Alice Rancourt, Patricia Kick and Lou Veilleus, Betty Perry and Judy Jones, Francis Roy and Ginny Kelly.

BANGOR — The following area students were recently named to the 2012 spring semester dean’s list at Husson University. To be named to the dean’s list, students must earn a grade-point average of 3.4 or better on a 4.0 scale.
