WATERVILLE — The city of Waterville was recently named part of the statewide L.L. Bean Healthy Hometowns program, because of its extensive collaboration establishing the 200-acre Quarry Road Recreation Area.
Liberty earns dean’s list status at UNE
FAIRFIELD — Miranda M. Liberty of Fairfield was recently named to the 2012 spring semester dean’s list at the University of New England with a 3.80 grade-point average.

WATERVILLE — The Hospice Volunteers of Waterville Area Resale Shop officially opened June 4. Store hours are 10 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday in the basement of the organization’s 304 Main St. building.

Museum passes available in Pittsfield
PITTSFIELD — Pittsfield Public Library is offering library patrons a family pass to the Maine Discovery Museum in Bangor. The pass, sponsored by the Friends of the Pittsfield Public Library, entitles up to four people admission to the museum for one day. The museum pass is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Reservations for a certain date are accepted.
Madison Sea Cadet Corps recognition
MADISON — The cadets and staff of NCB39 Battalion, U.S. Naval Sea Cadet Corps recently participated in annual swim qualifications in the lap lanes and rehabilitation pools at Redington-Fairview General Hospital. All of the cadets passed the U.S. Navy swim qualification standards with one qualifying as a first class swimmer.
Smithfield’s Paradis earns degree, honors
SMITHFIELD — Katherine Paradis recently graduated from Earlham College with a bachelor’s degree in Japanese studies.
