PORTLAND — Six new state troopers are being sworn into the ranks of the Maine State Police.
The new troopers have spent nine weeks in the State Police 63rd Recruit Training Troop and will begin patrolling throughout Maine with a veteran trooper later in the month.
The swearing-in ceremony is being held Friday at the Maine Criminal Justice Academy in Vassalboro.
The troopers, five from Maine and one from Massachusetts, will be assigned to York, Penobscot, Hancock, Washington, Somerset and Aroostook counties.
