CANAAN — The Canaan Farmers Hall will celebrate its second annual Canaan Common Threads Festival Friday through Sunday.

This year’s good news to share and celebrate is the purchase of the Maine State Grange.

The quilt show is new this year and promises to be outstanding. These are art quilts made by a group headed up by Peg Lovejoy of Skowhegan. Many new artists have been added the the 100 works for $100 show. The anadromus fish restoration along the Kennebec presentation on Friday evening is made for fishermen.

The crowning event will be signing the wall upstairs in the backstage area before, during and after the Harvest meal Saturday. Many people have signed the wall over the years. Current members or those who have purchased a plaque can sign their name. Markers will be provided.

Membership can be renewed and plaques can be purchased between noon and 5 p.m. Friday and anytime Saturday and Sunday .
