FARMINGDALE — Adam Small, son of Linda Sproul Small recently participated in his Eagle Court of Honor at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints where he is a member. He belongs to Troop 606 and has held several leadership positions.

Adam’s Eagle project was renovating the baseball infield at the former Hodgkins Middle School in Augusta, so the Augusta Babe Ruth League and Cony Middle School, along with anyone else who has an interest, would have another place to play baseball.

Adam is a junior at Hall-Dale High School, where he plays soccer, basketball and baseball.

Adam is also a member of the jazz band and concert band.

William Guerrette III, who is an Eagle Scout, was master of ceremonies. Scoutmaster Mark Dawson presented Adam with his Eagle Badge and bronze Eagle Palm.

Adam presented his mother with a pin to honor her for all she did to encourage him. Mentor pins were given to Edward Abbott and Coleman Scheuller for encouraging, helping and supporting him through every step of his Eagle project and every other obligation he had to meet to become an Eagle Scout.

At the Court of Honor, Guerrette read four accommodation letters to the audience. The first was from Dave Dombrowski, general manager of the Detroit Tigers.

There was also a letter from Bobby Valentine, former manager of the Boston Red Sox. The third was from Sen. Earle McCormick, and the other major leaders in the state Legislature.

The final letter was from President Barack Obama and first lady Michelle Obama.
