Farmington residents plan fundraisers for crash victim

FARMINGTON — Joe King, a Mt. Blue High School junior, recently suffered spinal cord injuries and is headed to Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital in Boston for a year of rehabilitation. The accident happened in Dresden when a pickup truck hit a ditch and then went through utility poles, according to a news release.

Family practice plans lung health screenings

FAIRFIELD — National Respiratory Care Week is Sunday through Saturday, Oct. 21-27. MaineGeneral Medical Center’s Respiratory Care Services will offer lung health information and screenings from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday, Oct. 22, at Maine Dartmouth Family Practice. People can talk to providers about their lung health concerns and be screened for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
