RANGELEY — The Franklin County Retired Educators recently held its opening meeting of the year.
According to a press release, the guest speaker was Crystal Ward, the MEA-R representative to the Benefits Trust. Her focus was on the insurance for Maine retirees. She explained the advantage of belonging to a big pool of participants from different ages and locations across the state.
Members enjoyed a buffet lunch prepared by the ladies of the Church of the Good Shepherd.
A total of 36 retirees have become members. School Administrative District 58 classrooms will be eligible for this year’s Grant in Aid. The spring convention theme will be “Fun in Retirement,” Volunteers are needed to prepare the Franklin County display.
