SKOWHEGAN — Ronald G. and Anna M. Wilber of Skowhegan celebrated their 40th anniversary a bit early by going on a Caribbean cruise with family and friends for 11 days in March 2012. It was their first time on a cruise.

Mr. Wilber and the former Anna M. Veilleux were married Aug. 19, 1972, at Notre Dame Church in Waterville. The ceremony was performed by Father Renald Hallee.

Mrs. Wilber was employed by MSAD 54 as a kindergarten teacher for 38 years. Mr. Wilber was also employed by MSAD 54 as an elementary school teacher for 37 years. They both retired in June 2009.

Both Mr. and Mrs. Wilber volunteer at North Elementary School in Skowhegan, doing the Storyboost Program with kindergarten students.

The couple have three adult children: their son, Robert and his fiancée, Terri Gamache, their son, Michael and their daughter, Kathleen, all of Portland.
