WATERVILLE — A blessing of the animals service will take place at 9:30 a.m. today in the sanctuary of Pleasant Street United Methodist Church, 61 Pleasant St.

Participants are welcome to bring their pets. Refreshment will follow. An offering will be taken to benefit the Humane Society Waterville Area.

KENTS HILL — Readfield United Methodist Church will present a blessing of the animals service at 10 a.m. today at the Kents Hill School ski lodge.


In case of rain, the service will be held indoors.

All are welcome to this interfaith community service. All animals must be on a leash or in a carrier. For more information, call the Rev. Desi Larson at 685 4211.

WALDOBORO — Broad Bay Congregational United Church of Christ, 941 Main St., will host a community breakfast and service of communion at 8:30 a.m. Sunday in the fellowship hall.

Homemade granola and breakfast casserole and muffins will be served.

Following breakfast and worship, participants will divide into crews to work on a variety of projects in the community, including visiting shut-ins, doing yard work and sprucing up the playground at Friendship Street School, site of the local Head Start program.
