AUGUSTA — The average retail cost of a gallon of gas in Maine is down another 4 cents to $3.51.

Price-monitoring website GasBuddy.com reports Monday that that’s more than 42 cents lower per gallon than at the same time last year, but still 13 cents higher than the current national average.

Prices in Maine have now fallen almost 22 cents per gallon in the past month.

In-state prices are based on a survey of more than 1,200 gas stations.

A company analyst says prices are expected to keep dropping in the immediate future, especially if the Atlantic keeps relatively storm free.
