WAYNE — A trove of stolen goods found in the town last week by authorities came from between 50 and 60 locations in at least three counties, a sheriff’s office official said.
Deputy Chief Ryan Reardon of the Kennebec County Sheriff’s Office said in a conservative estimate, between $25,000 and $40,000 worth of stolen items are being held as evidence in the case, including a snowmobile worth $10,000 alone, electronics and other items.
Justin Ross, 36, the alleged mastermind of the ring, was arrested Wednesday on theft and burglary charges. Reardon said since then, a woman has also been charged in connection with the case, but she has not been arrested.
Reardon wouldn’t release the woman’s name, saying she and Ross are cooperating with authorities by showing police the places they burglarized.
On Wednesday, police found many of the items in a home at 186 Main St. in Wayne and more items at another property in Livermore Falls.
